The south of the country is dominated by a thick cloud band associated with a
cold front moving through the Bight, linking up to a surface trough which leans
back all the way the the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. This cloud band
has active areas of thunderstorms throughout. To the north and east of this
cloud band there is widespread convective cloud with isolated thunderstorms.

Western Australia is free of most of the cloud and weather this afternoon, with
only a small area of low level cloud over the most southwestern parts of the
state.
