A patchy middle to high level cloud band with embedded thunderstorms extends
from western South Australia through western New South Wales to southwest
Queensland. Thunderstorms are evident parts of this area. This is generated by
an upper level disturbance.

Moist onshore flows are producing low cloud through western Tasmania, the Bass
Strait, southern Victoria as well as coastal NSW and QLD.

In the north, a broad area of low pressure over northern Australia combined with
favourable moist surface conditions has resulted in enhanced convective activity
over the Top End and northern WA. Thunderstorms are evident throughout this
