Middle level cloud over Victoria, northern New South Wales and the southeast
parts of South Australia, is due to an upper level jetstream and upper level
trough.

The cloud band stretching across Tasmania and into the Tasman Sea, is associated
with a cold front. Another cold front is approaching the southwest parts of WA,
with cloud over far southwest WA ahead of the front.

Low cloud can be seen along the east coast in a southeasterly airstream and over
southern victoria in the southwesterly airstream.

The remainder of Australia is relatively cloud free due to a high pressure
system centred over the central parts of New South Wales.

Ex-Tropical Cyclone "Raquel" remains slow moving near the Solomon Islands and is
generating broad areas of convective cloud.
