IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 1200UTC Chart Issued at 12:37 am EDT Tuesday on 19 January 2021 Tropical monsoon activity continues to be visible in the north of the country with convective cloud and thunderstorms. This particularly visible around Cyclone Kimi off the coast near Cairns in QLD with visible cyclonic rotation. A trough along the WA coast extends across the NT, central QLD and in to northeast NSW bringing a band of mid-high level cloud through these regions. A high pressure system south of the Bight is directing low cloud over coastal parts of southeast WA, SA, and VIC. A cold front just passed TAS bringing specled clouds to TAS. The remainder of the continent is mostly clear.
