A deep low pressure system over New Zealand and associated cold pool are
producing low cloud over much of the Tasman Sea. A strong cold front is crossing
Tasmania and southern Victoria with an associated cloudband and isolated
thunderstorms.

A ridge of high pressure is responsible for keeping the rest of the continent
mainly cloud free, with just some low cloud is over Western Australian south
coast and patchy high cloud that is streaming down over northern Australia.
