IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC chart on 02 May 2016 Issued at 5:43 pm EST Monday on 02 May 2016 Middle to high level cloud streaming across the central and eastern parts of the continent is associated with an upper level trough and a jetstream. Embedded thunderstorm activity can be seen within this cloud band over the central NT and the interior of WA. A broad mid level cloud band associated with a cold front is approaching Tasmania from the west. A large pool of cold air behind this front remains over the southern waters. Thunderstorms visible across the Top End of the Northern Territory and over the Arafura/Timor Sea area are caused by the humid easterly wind flow.
