Thunderstorm activity is increasing across the tropical north of the country, in
central and eastern QLD and northern NSW. The monsoon trough has returned to the
northwest of the country, embedded in which is a developing tropical low to the
far northwest of the Pilbara WA.

A surface trough across inland QLD and into eastern NSW has associated
convective development along the east coast. A low is present in the Coral Sea
with convective cloud bands.

A cold front crossing Tasmania with a low to its south is bringing significant
cloud, and onshore flow in the Bight is pushing low level cloud over SA, WA and
VIC.

The remainder of the country is mostly clear due to a ridge of high pressure
over the Great Australian Bight.
