A complex low pressure system and associated cold front has moved into the
Tasman Sea with a weak low centre over eastern Bass Strait. A large cloud band
with a few embedded thunderstorms covers Tasmania and eastern half of Victoria
and southeast NSW.

A trough extends from southwest WA to the NT and further east, just off the
coast of QLD. Areas of cloud and a few storms are present near and to the north
of this trough.

The central inland part of the continent is mostly cloud free due to a high
pressure ridge while low cloud is present along the southern coast of SA,
western Victoria and WA.
