A monsoon trough is generating areas of thunderstorms about the Kimberley and
Pilbara coasts of Western Australia. High and middle level cloud is streaming
from this area through the interior and across the Bight. An established upper
level trough is generating this extensive cloud band. Thunderstorms are also
active over central Australia, and off the coast of the Top End and far north
Queensland.

Further south, the strong cold front has moved out over the Tasman Sea and an
area of speckled cloud depicts a particularly cold air mass over Tasmania and
southern Victoria.
