Ex-Tropical Cyclone "Frances" is located off the Kimberley coast of Western
Australia and features frequent thunderstorm activity to its northwest. High
level cloud is streaming off this system across northern WA into central parts
of the country.

A southeasterly airflow is maintaining low level cloud patches along the New
South Wales and Queensland coasts. Southerly flow on the eastern flank of a high
near Broken Hill is causing low cloud over much of western Victoria,
southwestern NSW and southeast South Australia. Patchy low level cloud is seen
covering northern and western Tasmania in a moderate northwesterly flow. Much of
the continent is cloud free due to this ridge of high pressure.

High level jetstream cloud is moving across northern South Australia and
southern NT. Patchy middle level cloud covers parts of SA and the Bight from an
upper level trough.

A cloud band associated with a strong cold front is crossing the southwest of
WA.
