A surface trough and a strong upper disturbance are generating a large cloud
band that extends from the Top End of the Northern Territory through much of
Queensland to a cold front over the Tasman Sea. Isolated thunderstorms are
located over northern Western Australia near a weakening low pressure system.

A mass of cold air over the southeast is being driven onshore, bringing low
cloud to Tasmania, Victoria, southeast South Australia and along the New South
Wales coast.

The remainder of the country is relatively cloud free due to a large high
pressure system centred over the Bight.
