Much of the interior of the continent is cloud free apart from areas of middle
to high level cloud across the central parts of Western Australia and about the
northeastern parts of South Australia. A few thunderstorms can also be seen in
the band across Western Australia. An upper trough together with a surface low
pressure trough is causing this area of instability.

Areas of low cloud is present over southwest WA, western Tasmania and parts of
southern VIC while a moist onshore flow is causing areas of low cloud along the
eastern seaboard and northern coastal parts of Queensland.
