A trough of low pressure near the western WA coastline is generating a thick
middle level cloudband with active isolated thunderstorms. A second trough
linking the NT's Top End, through the Gulf of Carpentaria and into northeastern
QLD is also generating areas of isolated thunderstorms and patchy cloud.

A domininant high pressure system to the south of the country is generating an
onshore south to southeasterly airstream and bringing low level cloud onto much
of the southern WA, SA, Victorian and western Tasmanian coast.

Patchy middle and upper level cloud can also be seen extending through eastern
SA and western NSW as it's pulled eastwards within an upper level jetstream.
