The subtropical ridge is keeping southern Australia largely free of cloud. There
is however some low level moisture trapped under this ridge producing some low
cloud around coastal regions of South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

A trough is moving up the coast of New South Wales and extends across the
Tasman, producing a cloud band over water and some areas of showers and
thunderstorms along the coast.

A second trough across the north of Australia is producing showers and storms
across northern Queensland, the Northern Territory and the northwest of WA.
