Satellite Notes for the 1800UTC chart on 22 September 2014

Issued at 5:01 am EST Tuesday on 23 September 2014

Middle level cloud and isolated thunderstorms, associated with a strong cold front, is moving across southeastern Western Australia towards the South Australian border. Cold air behind the front is bringing low cloud and showers to the southwest of the state.

Extensive cloud through eastern Queensland and northern New South Wales is due to the combination of an onshore flow and upper level trough. This mass of cloud extends across the Coral Sea with isolated embedded thunderstorms.

A ridge of high pressure is maintaining mostly clear conditions across the remainder of the country.
