The cloud band that is associated with a cold front and a low pressure system has now largely moved over the Tasman Sea. Cold-air cloud behind this front remains over far eastern New South Wales.
Cloud over southern Western Australia, South Australia and the Bight is due to a low pressure trough and an upper level jet stream.
The northern half of the country is mostly clear due to a ridge of high pressure.
