Showers and thunderstorms extend over northern Australia with more enhanced
activity over the Carpentaria district of NT. Humid northwest to northeasterly
winds are feeding into a broad low pressure trough with a slow moving tropical
low over the Carpentaria NT.

Another low pressure trough is aligned across the Pilbara through central
Australia then links with a strong cold front moving through central NSW.
Showers and thunderstorms are active near the trough through the NT, the
southern interior of QLD and northeast NSW.

Further south, the strong cold front extends off the central NSW coast over the
Tasman Sea. A westerly airstream with areas of low cloud lies over the southern
agricultural areas of SA, southern Victoria and Tasmania.

A high pressure ridge lies over southern districts of Western Australia. Another
high pressure ridge across the Tasman Sea and Coral Sea is directing a north to
northeast airstream over most of QLD and northeast NSW.
