A cold front is crossing the south east of the continent with the main cloud
band currently over Victoria and Tasmania. To the east of this cloud band
extensive high cloud can be observed over parts of NSW and Victoria. To the west
of the cold front a large mass of cold air has produced a large and vigorous
field of speckled convective cloud with isolated thunderstorms off the the
Victorian and South Australian coastlines. This speckled cloud extends
throughout the Bight.

The rest of the country is mostly clear, under the influence of a ridge of high
pressure.
