Issued at 6:40 pm EST Monday on 21 April 2014

Patchy cloud can be seen over the northern tropics of Australia with a few isolated thunderstorms over the waters to the north of the country.

A cold front is generating a mid-level cloudband and isolated thunderstorms over the Great Australian Bight. High level cloud is extending east ahead of this system to cover much of southeastern Australia.

High cloud extends from Severe Tropical Cyclone "Jack", which is well to the west of Australia, to the Gascoyne district in WA.
