A strong cold front is moving through the Great Australian Bight and has
produced an extensive cloud band with embedded thunderstorms. Cellular cold air
clouds and isolated thunderstorms can be seen behind the front.

Some middle and high level cloud extends from the north over far north
Queensland and the northern parts of the Top End in the Northern Territory.

The remainder of the continent is mainly cloud free under the influence of a
high pressure ridge extending across central Australia.
