A cold front south of WA has a cloud band that extends over the southwest of the
state. A trough across western NSW and western Victoria is maintaining a band of
cloud over much of Victoria, Tasmania and eastern half of NSW.

A surface trough extends from the Kimberley region of WA through the NT to
southeast QLD. Areas of cloud can be seen near and to the east of this trough
with some active thunderstorms over northwest QLD, southeast QLD and northeast

Major cloud development is also associated with a surface trough that lies near
New Caledonia. This trough links to a low pressure system south of Lord Howe

The rest of the country is mostly clear apart from areas of low cloud about the
southern coast of SA.
