Issued at 11:00 pm EST Tuesday on 22 July 2014
A broad cloud band extends from the north of Western Australia into South Australia and is due to an upper trough. A low pressure system and weakening cold front is moving over southern WA, to the west of this cloud band, and is causing areas of low and middle level cloud with embedded thunderstorms. Another weakening cold front is slipping to the south of WA.
The eastern states are mostly cloud free although areas of low cloud and fog are expected to develop across parts of the southeast overnight. Isolated convective cloud can be seen near the NSW north coast and the far southeast coast of Queensland.
