A strong and persistent high pressure system in the Bight continues to dominate
the weather pattern over much of Australia, with much of the continent remaining
dry and relatively cloud free.

Thicker cloud over Tasmania, the Bass Strait and Victoria is associated with the
passage of a trough.

Some high cloud originating from thunderstorms to the north of the country can
be also seen streaming down over northern Queensland and the NT Top End coast.
