An extensive cloud band with embedded thunderstorm activity extends from central
Western Australia through South Australia and into Victoria and Tasmania. This
is associated with a surface trough and a cold front passing over Tasmania.

Afternoon thunderstorm activity is starting to fire up through much of the Top
End of Australia.

Southwest WA, eastern NSW and southern QLD remain relatively cloud-free due to
the influence of high pressure ridges.
