Widespread showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy falls extend over the
eastern Barkly and Carpentaria districts of the NT and north QLD. A slow moving
tropical low lies over the Barkly district with associated trough aligned across
the North Tropical QLD coast. A warm and humid west to northwesterly flow
persists to the north of this trough. Showers and thunderstorms also extend from
northwest QLD to northeast NSW in the vicinity of a low pressure trough, while
isolated showers and storms are visible over the eastern Pilbara WA.

Further south, a high pressure system in the Bight is maintaining mostly clear
skies over southern WA and South Australia. A westerly airstream and middle
level trough is resulting in patchy cloud over southern Victoria and Tasmania.
