Tropical Cyclone Trevor (Category 2) is located just offshore from Weipa over
the Gulf of Carpentaria. Deep convective cloud is observed rotating around this
Cyclone, with high and middle level cloud extending across the northern Gulf of
Carpentaria and north Queensland. An extensive band of thunderstorms are also
observed across the Top End of the Northern Territory.

Severe Tropical Cyclone Veronica (Category 4) is located northwest of Broome,
Western Australia. Widespread thunderstorm activity extends over a large area of
the ocean near Veronica, in the vicinity of a monsoon trough.

A large area of active thunderstorm activity is seen over southern WA, triggered
by a combination of a surface trough and middle level disturbance. High and
middle level cloud streams away to the east across the remainder of southern
districts of WA. High cloud filaments are moving rapidly east within high
altitude jetstream winds across South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria.

Isolated thunderstorm activity can be seen through southeastern Queensland and
about the Great Dividing Range through NSW and Victoria, triggered by afternoon

A slow moving upper low and surface trough is generating a band of cloud with
embedded thunderstorms over the Tasman Sea.

Finally, a broad high pressure ridge south of the continent continues to direct
a light easterly flow across the remainder of southern Australia, with patchy
low cloud about coastal areas.
