Two bands of cloud are visible over Western Australia and the Great Australian
Bight. This cloud is associated with two strong cold fronts, the western one
having an area of cold "speckled" cloud to its west. Cloud from the eastern
front stretches across the Southern Ocean near Tasmania carried by jetstream
winds.

A remnant area of low cloud is over northeast Victoria.

Patchy convective cloud is over Cape York Peninsula.

The remainder of the continent is mostly cloud free due to a large, slow moving
high pressure system.
