A horseshoe shaped inland trough arcs across northern parts of the country in a
typical fashion for this time of the year, stretching through WA and across the
NT then down through QLD. Isolated thunderstorms and patchy cloud occurring in
the vicinity of the trough.

Low cloud is visible along the NSW coast with moist, onshore flow. Patchy cloud
over Tasmania associated with an upper level disturbance.

A middle level cloud band stretches over the Great Australian Bight and Southern
Ocean to the south of WA and is associated with a cold front.

The remainder of Australia is relatively clear under the influence of a high
pressure ridge.
