A large band of middle to high level cloud extends from the Pilbara to the
southeast of the country, associated with a trough and cold front. Isolated
thunderstorm activity is occurring near the front in South Australia and
Tasmania. Patches of middle to high level cloud extend into New South Wales
ahead of this cloud band, whilst low level cloud pushes into southwest Western
Australia in the wake of the front.

Onshore trade flow is dragging scattered low level cloud along the east coast of
Queensland. Scattered diurnal low level cloud is also building across the north
of the country.

The remainder of the continent is mainly cloud free due to a ridge of high
pressure.
