A cloud band with embedded thunderstorms extends over eastern NSW from the
Tasman Sea. This is associated with a surface trough and a low pressure system
located off the NSW coast.

Patchy low cloud lingers about Gippsland in Victoria and the west coast of
Tasmania. A surface trough and a weak upper trough is generating patchy middle
level cloud over the southeast parts of Western Australia and the western parts
of South Australia. Patchy low cloud is also evident for the southwest districts
of Western Australia.

High cloud is streaming over the southwest parts of Western Australia, ahead of
an approaching cold front.

The remainder of the continent is mostly clear under the influence of a high
pressure ridge.
