Middle to high level cloud streaming across the central parts of the continent
is associated with a broad upper level trough and a jetstream.

An intense low pressure system with an associated cold front is located over the
southern Tasman sea. Low cloud can be seen in the cold air behind the cold front
over the southern coastal areas of the continent as well as Tasmania.

A few thunderstorms can also be seen over the northern Tasman sea along a
surface trough.

Thunderstorms are also occurring across the Top End of the Northern Territory
due to a humid easterly wind flow over the area.
