An extensive area of cloud with shower and thunderstorm activity in the Coral
Sea is associated with the monsoon trough and tropical Cyclone 'Tatiana'.

An area of low pressure across Cape York Peninsula and the tropical north is
generating shower and thunderstorm activity about northern Queensland and the
far north of the NT and WA.

A high pressure ridge over the south of the continent is maintaining mostly
clear conditions apart from extensive thunderstorms over New South Wales.

  • From 4 Dec 2015 MTSAT data is no longer received via direct broadcast. The Bureau continues to receive MTSAT imagery via FTP, however this has a greater latency. Please use the new high resolution satellite viewer for superior performance.
