A broad area of cloud with embedded thunderstorms covers northern and
southeastern parts of WA with high cloud streaming across the Bight towards
Tasmania and southwestern Victoria. This cloud lies to the east of a sharp upper
trough. A few diurnal thunderstorms also remain about northern parts of the

Low cloud about western Tasmania is due to a moist northwesterly airstream ahead
of a developing frontal system to the west of the state.

Convective activity over inland Queensland near a slow moving surface trough has
dissipated overnight.
