Much of the interior of the continent is cloud free due to a ridge of high
pressure across the southeast and the central part of the country.

A cold front in the Great Australian Bight is crossing Tasmania with a band of
cloud stretching from southwest of WA to Tasmania but the cloud remains well to
the south of Victoria. A trough and an onshore flow is generating areas of cloud
over the eastern inland and southern coastal parts of Queensland. Convective
cloud has also developed over the top end in Northern Territory and the central
inland parts of WA.

Cloud can also be seen about the southern coast of Western Australia.
