There is speckled cloud to the west of this system, indicating the cooler air that is following this system. A low pressure trough extends across northern Australia, producing storms over northern Queensland and the Cape York peninsula. Some mid-level cloud produced by these storms are moving southeast over Central Queensland. A high to the west of Western Australia is pushing across the Indian Ocean, trapping low cloud near the coast in the southwest.
