A surface trough extends from the Pilbara district of Western Australia through
northern parts of South Australia and New South Wales to a deepening low
pressure centre over waters to the east of northeastern Tasmania. Thunderstorm
activity is seen along the length of the trough, with some middle level cloud
seen in the vicinity.

Low cloud is seen south of the trough over the remainder of coastal SA, VIC and
Tasmania.

A moist north to northwest windflow covers a broad area to the north of the
trough, triggering thunderstorms over northern WA, the Top End in the Northern
Territory and the northern parts of Queensland.
