IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for 1200UTC Chart on 28 April 2017 Issued at 11:09 pm EST Friday on 28 April 2017 Severe Tropical Cyclone "Frances" is located off the Kimberley coast of Western Australia with frequent thunderstorm activity, with high level cloud streaming off across northern WA, the central Northern Territory into Northern Queensland. A southerly airflow is maintaining low level cloud patches along the New South Wales and Queensland coasts, as well as over much of Victoria, and southeast South Australia. A weak low offshore over the southern Coral Sea is causing an area of isolated thunderstorms. Patchy middle and high level cloud is streaming from a low over the northern Indian Ocean to the west coast of WA. Patchy middle level cloud also covers much of Central Australia, South Australia and southern WA from an upper trough over central WA. Patchy low and middle level cloud is seen covering Tasmania from a weak cold front.
