A broad area of low pressure over northern and central Australia are generating
thunderstorms and areas of middle level cloud across the north of the country.
While another trough is triggering thunderstorms and some patchy middle level
cloud over South Australia.

A moist northeasterly airstream, directed onto the continent's east coast by a
high pressure system in the Tasman Sea, is producing patchy low cloud along
coastal and adjacent areas in Queensland and New South Wales.

While the southeast and southwest of the country are mainly cloudfree under the
influence of high pressure ridges.
