IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC Chart on 22 October 2016 Issued at 12:34 pm EDT Saturday on 22 October 2016 A cold front and a trough are generating an extensive cloud band that stretches from the Northern Territory over Queensland and northeast New South Wales to the Tasman Sea. Areas of thunderstorm activity are evident along the cloud band. Middle level cloud is wrapping around a small low pressure over eastern Bass Strait. This cloud is affecting northeast Tasmania and Flinders Island. A mass of cold air is being driven onshore bringing low cloud to the South Australian and Victorian coasts.
