A broad area of cloud with one or two embedded thunderstorms lies over the southern inland of Queensland and northern NSW and is associated with a middle level low. Another low, just off the north coast of NSW, is intensifying while areas of low and middle level cloud along its southern flank are streaming onto the NSW coast.
A cloud band, associated with an upper trough, is clearing from the Queensland east coast although patchy high cloud remains about the tropics of Queensland and about the Top End of the Territory. Isolated thunderstorms are also evident about the north coast of the Top End.
Patchy low cloud lies over coastal regions of South Australia and about the Eucla district of WA within a moist southerly airflow while a weak cold front approaches Tasmania from the west. A broad area of isolated embedded thunderstorms lies over waters to the north of WA.
