Middle level cloud and isolated thunderstorms moving across South Australia is associated with a strong cold front. Cold air behind the front is bringing low cloud and showers to southern parts of Western Australia.
Extensive cloud through Queensland and western New South Wales is due to the combination of an onshore flow and upper level troughs. Another cloud band extends across the Coral Sea with isolated embedded thunderstorms.
A ridge of high pressure is maintaining mostly clear conditions across the remainder of the country.
