A cold front south of WA will pass to the south of the bight today. A broad
swathe of mid and upper level clouds with acompanying thunderstorms evident over
The Gascoyne coast and down into the Goldfields and the inalnd agricultural
districs of WA is being fed by moisture in the tropics south of Indonesia.

Clouds associated with a weakening area of low pressure to the far southeast of
Tas linger about Tasmania and the western Tasman Sea. Further east a cloud band
in the eastern Tasman Sea is associated with a developing subtropical low
expected to pass over Norfolk Island tonight bringing heavy rain dangerous surf
and damaging wind gusts to the island.

The rest of the country is mostly clear under the influence slow-moving high
pressure system centred over northwestern NSW and northern SA.
