Tropical Cyclone Trevor (Category 2) is located approximately 185km to the east
of Lockhart River and is moving slowly southwest. Heavy rain and thunderstorm
areas are in the immediate vicinity of Trevor while a separate band of shower
and thunderstorms is affecting the eastern Gulf of Carpentaria. High level cloud
is streaming further south from this system across the remainder of north
Queensland. Showers and thunderstorms are active over northern WA and the Top
End with a tropical low located to the northwest of Broome. The monsoon trough
is aligned over waters to the northwest of WA and also across far north
Queensland to Cyclone Trevor towards the northern Coral Sea.
