Satellite Notes for 0000UTC chart on 23 October 2014

Issued at 11:52 am EDT Thursday on 23 October 2014

Patchy cloud, the remnants of overnight thunderstorms, is evident over inland and eastern New South Wales. The cloud is a result of an area of low pressure. Some low cloud is over SE South Australia, southern Victoria and Tasmania.

An area of low pressure extending from NW to SE Western Australia is producing a broad middle and upper level cloud band with isolated thunderstorms. Some high cloud is streaming from this system into central Australia and South Australia. Some low level cloud is over SW Western Australia.

Low cloud over the North Tropical Coast of Queensland is from a moist onshore airstream.

Other areas remain mainly cloud free.
