Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC chart on 23 August 2014

A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is directing a moist onshore flow and patchy low cloud with isolated thunderstorms onto the New South Wales coast.

Areas of cloud with isolated thunderstorms over the southeast parts of Queensland and northeast New South Wales is due to a surface trough and a weak low pressure system located off the southeast Queensland coast.

A cold front with associated cloud band and isolated thunderstorms is moving across the western parts of Victoria. Another cold front is approaching the southwest parts of Western Australia.

Low cloud over the northern tropical region of Queensland is due to a moist onshore wind flow.
