A low pressure trough extends from northern parts of Western Australia through
central Australia to Victoria with an associated band of middle to high level
cloud covering large parts of the southeast of Australia. Patchy high cloud with
embedded thunderstorms also covers much of the northern tropics to the north of
the trough.

Southeastern Queensland, northeastern New South Wales and southern parts of
Western Australia are mostly cloud free.
