Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 26 May 2013

Issued at 11:04 am EST Sunday on 26 May 2013

A broad, slow moving high pressure system centred over South Australia dominates the synoptic pattern. This is keeping skies mostly clear across the continent, apart from some patchy low cloud over the Bight, the southeast corner of the mainland and Tasmania.

A few isolated showers remain along the northern New South Wales and southeast Queensland coasts in a southerly onshore flow.

A band of cloud over Western Australia is bringing isolated showers due to a weak upper level trough.

Elsewhere, a broad area of convective cloud lies over tropical waters to the northwest of Western Australia, while a cold front is developing to the far southwest over the Indian Ocean.
