A westerly airstream has been established over the far south of the continent
with a weakening cold front moving through the Bight. Areas of middle and high
level cloud are drifting ahead of the front across the southeast. Another
frontal system is visible south of Western Australia.

An upper trough is responsible for the narrow cloud band aligned through
southwest Queensland and the northern interior of New South Wales. A surface
trough off the NSW coast is triggering showers and isolated thunderstorm
activity.

Onshore easterly winds are resulting in low cloud along the east coast of
Queensland.
