A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is directing a moist onshore flow over the east and southeast Australian seaboard. As a result, areas of low cloud are evident over the Victorian, Tasmanian, New South Wales and southern Queensland coasts.

Further inland, areas of low and middle level convective cloud over the southern interior of Queensland, northern New South Wales and South Australia is due to an inland trough of low pressure.

A cloud band moving across the southwest of WA is associated with a prefrontal trough and cold front passing over the area.
