A broad area of middle and high level cloud with embedded thunderstorms across
most of WA, western South Australia and over the Indian Ocean is caused by an
upper level disturbance and a low pressure system of the Pilbara coast.

A trough and low pressure system near the east coast is generating a cloud band
with rain areas and embedded thunderstorms, over parts of eastern New South
Wales and Victoria. This cloud band extends further eastwards into the Tasman

Shower and thunderstorm activity can also be seen along the coast of the NT and
over the waters across the tropical north of the continent.

A cold front is also evident to the south of the continent.
