IDY28000 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Bureau National Operations Centre Satellite Notes for the 0000UTC chart on 31 January 2015 Issued at 11:38 am EDT Saturday on 31 January 2015 A broad area of cloud with embedded thunderstorms covers large parts of Western Australia and extends into the Top End of the Territory. This cloud is associated with an inland trough over WA. Isolated thunderstorms can also be seen off the northern tip of Queensland while a developing tropical low lies well to the east in the Coral Sea. Areas of cloud wrapping around a deep, slow-moving low pressure system in the Tasman Sea cover parts of Tasmania, eastern Victoria and the far southeast of New South Wales. Isolated thunderstorms can also be seen just off the northern New South Wales coast. The remainder of Australia is mostly cloud free.
