A broad band of middle-level cloud with embedded thudnerstorms lies across the
north of the country and extends along a trough to the Wide Bay and Burnett
district in Queensland. Thunderstorms are most active about northern and central
Queensland and the Top End.

Further south, a cold front is moving east of Victoria and Tasmania with areas
of low cloud behind it. Another cold front is approaching the west coast of
Tasmania. The remainder of Australia is generally clear apart from some high
level cloud drifting across the interior.
