A developing low is centred over northern Victoria, ahead of a cold front in the
west of the state. A series of troughs extends to the southwest into the Bass
Strait and up north into New South Wales. These systems are associated with a
thick area of cloud covering most of the southeast including Tasmania.

An inland trough across northern parts of the country extending from the
Kimberley region in Western Australia through the Northern Territory and into
southeastern Queensland is associated with a thick cloud band and embedded
thunderstorms.

Moist onshore flow is generating areas of low cloud over southern parts of South
Australia and the southeast of Western Australia.

The rest of the country is mostly clear.
